November is National Family Caregivers Month
Each November we recognize National Family Caregivers Month. We utilize this opportunity not only to recognize and celebrate the work and devotion of caregivers, but also to raise awareness of caregiving issues in effort to increase support for caregivers. If you, or someone you know is a caregiver and could benefit from available information, resources and supports, a great place to go to connected to local help is ACL’s Eldercare Locator and Disability Information & Access Line (DIAL).
The Eldercare Locator, a nationwide public service provided by ACL. The Eldercare Locator can connect you to trustworthy services for older adults and their families in local communities. From meals and home care, caregiving and transportation options to financial or legal assistance, the Eldercare Locator can point you in the right direction. A special section of the Eldercare Locator website, called the “Caregiving Corner,” is devoted to caregivers and is where useful links and resources can be found. Connect with an Eldercare Locator information specialist from 8:00AM to 9:00PM ET, Monday through Friday.
