American Rescue Plan Funding

Agency on Aging of South Central Connecticut announces an ARPA Grant opportunity
The American Recovery Plan Act includes considerable funding for programs serving older adults, specifically in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which disproportionally affected older adults.  It is AOASCC’s intention to use these funds to improve or build capacity for community-based services.  Eligible projects include, but are not limited to, food, social engagement, and long-term care services to help older adults get the supports they need. 

This RFP is open to municipalities and nonprofit organizations serving older adults in the Greater New Haven and Lower Valley areas of Connecticut.  Applicants must serve adults age 60+ and/or their caregivers.  Applications that address the following areas are encouraged:  mental health services, chore services, social isolation, food insecurity.

Application must be submitted by January 21.  Grant award are expected to be announced on or around February 1 and monies are to be expended by September 30, 2022.
