Legal Assistance

New Haven Legal Assistance Association, Inc. Elder Law Unit receives a grant from AOASCC through Federal Older Americans Act funding to provide services for low-income individuals 60 years of age or older in the south central area of Connecticut. The legal services provided include advice, brief service, full representation, policy advocacy and community education. NHLA will provide services for free or will make a referral to an attorney who will provide services for free or at a low cost.

Connecticut Veteran Legal Center (CVLC)
CVLC is co-located and collaborated with the VA CT’s Errera Community Care Center in West Haven and provides free legal services for Connecticut’s most vulnerable veterans. CVLC receives AOASCC funding to provide free legal representation to veterans aged 60 and over who earn less than 150% of the federal poverty guideline.

Consumer Law Project for Elders (CLPE) is a project of Connecticut Network for Legal Aid, a not-for-profit law firm. CLPE advocates (attorneys and paralegals) provide free legal assistance to seniors with consumer legal problems through a statewide telephone hotline.
