Protect SNAP

 

The Federal Farm Bill will be reauthorized in September.  This bill is the country's central legislation and funding for food and agricultural programs, including the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

Your advocacy is needed to ensure that SNAP is protected for the millions that rely on this benefit to buy groceries each month, including 4.8 millions older adults. .  Read the memo from Witness to Hunger New Haven for more information and how you can be an advocate for this vital program.
 
SNAP is the largest nutrition assistance program administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. It serves as the first line of defense against hunger. In fact, without SNAP, hunger in this country would be far, far worse. Read more from the Food Research & Action Center.
