Transportation Options

Many municipalities provide transportation assistance for older adults. Check with your local senior center, or keep reading to learn about additional options.

Medical Transportation

We provide Older Americans Act funding to several community organizations who provide medical transportation at no cost to individuals 60 and older. See the current list of grant recipients.

Assistance to Medical Appointments

We can match you with a screened, trained, and certified volunteer, giving you added safety and security in trips to and from medical procedures and doctor's office visits. Chaperones provide reminder phone calls, go to your home, ride with you to the appointment (chaperones do not drive – transportation is provided through another service), stay in the waiting room, and then return to your home with you.
