Chaperone Support

Volunteers are needed for this "door through door" service, accompanying individuals from their home to their medical appointments and back.  Encouraging, supporting and physically being there can make all the difference in an individual keeping their medical, dental, vision, therapy and/or outpatient procedure appointments.

Chaperones do not provide the ride (transportation is provided through another service), but volunteers do need to be able to get to and from the client's home independently.

Shop for Someone Home Bound

Do you have a car and are like to shop?  Here's a great opportunity.

Volunteer to shop and deliver food to homebound older adults..  You will be provided with a $100 gift card to do the shopping and we will also reimburse your mileage. Delivery will be made strictly to the doorstep - we continue to follow social distancing guidelines.  After you have volunteered, our agency will follow up with the person you helped to offer additional deliveries from a Food Pantry.

If you are interested in volunteering, please complete this form and forward to Tom Davis.

Friendly Visitor

There are many older adults who are isolated and lonely, so just a check-in and conversation can make all the difference in the week.  The RSVP program requires just a few hours of your time during the month.  To be eligible you need to be over 55 and pass a background check.

Companion

There are many lonely & isolated older adults in need of companionship. Companions make a difference by providing friendship and assistance such as running errands and assisting with light meals to adults who have difficulty with daily living tasks. Your time can also give families a much needed time off from their caregiving responsibilities. Companions serve 5-40 hours per week and are assigned to individuals who are living at home. Typically, companions are assigned to 2-3 people and spend 3-4 hours with them daily. For their service, a companion receives a tax-free stipend, transportation reimbursement, on-going training and recognition.
To be eligible you must be 55 years of age, income eligible (no more than 200% of the poverty leve), and pass a background check.

The Money Management program

This program will match you with low to moderate-income older adults, veterans or individuals with disabilities who need help keeping up with their primary bills.  As a “Bill Payer” volunteer, you can provide the assistance they need to organize and maintain financial records, establish a budget, complete checks and balance checkbooks. These activities enable these individuals to continue to live independently.
