Volunteer Services to Help One Remain at Home
The Agency has different volunteer programs that support individuals so they can remain living in their homes. Such services include:
- The Medical Chaperone Program, which matches older adults who have difficulty going to medical appointments on their own with a caring and trained volunteer medical chaperone. The volunteer medical chaperone provides added safety, security and companionship during necessary medical visits.
- Companionship programs, which provide much-needed company and friendship to individuals who are experiencing social isolation.
- Money management program, where a vetted volunteer will provide personal assistance by helping to open up and organize mail and assist with paying bills and organizing accounts.
- Additional personalized services, such as grocery shopping, that an older adult may need on either a regular or as-needed basis.
