The Agency on Aging of South Central Connecticut is proud to partner with Yale on the Cancer & Aging Research Alliance (CARA) to advance research, improve care models, and foster community collaboration to meet the needs of older adults with cancer.
Older adults represent the fastest-growing segment of the US population, and with advancing age comes an increased risk for many chronic diseases—including cancer. As communities, service providers, and researchers work to support healthy aging, understanding the intersection of cancer and aging is essential.
In 2025, the Cancer and Aging Research Joint Retreat brought together researchers, clinicians, and community leaders to address the growing challenges of cancer care in an aging population.
